Saint Raphaël organizes each year, in May, the Triathlon de la Corniche d’Or. Three classic sports events (swimming, cycling and running) are offered to participants. It is organized by the Saint Raphaël Triathlon club. The events are offered in two formats : XS in the morning and M in the afternoon, in order to satisfy a very large number of athletes, from the amateur to the most experienced.
What is the Triathlon of the Corniche d’Or ?

The XS swimming event
consists of a 400-meter swim in the calm blue waters of Agay Bay, sheltered from the prevailing winds. The M event extends over 1500 meters at the same place, but over a longer distance. At this time of year, the temperatures are very mild and the water varies between 18° and 24°.

The XS cycling event
consists of a 10 kilometer round trip from Agay to the inland on the Louve forest road. The M event extends over 40 kilometers, with a difference in altitude of 800 meters, making two large loops and a round trip from Agay to Cap Roux first, then inland on the Louve forest road as well.

The XS running event
consists of a 3 kilometer course at Cap Esterel starting from Agay. The M event consists of a 10 kilometer course around the Esterel massif, with a magnificent view of the Pic de l’Ours and Mont Vinaigre, still starting from Agay. The descent is done while enjoying the superb panorama of Agay Bay.
The Corniche d’Or triathlon is attended by 800 participants, about 50 volunteers and a general public to encourage the athletes.
Over the years, the Triathlon de la Corniche d’Or has become the essential sporting event in Saint Raphaël and its surroundings.
